Moderation that doesn't sleep

Commands
Type these in a room with VOXbots. Most rooms use !, but the owner can pick another symbol, and can change who may use each command.
Setting up your bot
About five minutes. You need to be an owner of the room, and the room needs the (bot) power.
Create a panel account
Sign in at the panel and add a bot. Give it a name and your room's name, exactly as it is in the room's address.
Assign the (bot) power
In your room, type
(bot), click the smiley and choose Assign.Point the power at VOXbots
In the room's group settings, tick the BOT power and click Edit. Enter VOXbots' bot account ID, shown in your panel's setup steps, as the Bot ID, leave AppBot ID at 0 and save.
Start the bot
Press Start bot in the panel. It usually joins within a few seconds.

The team
These are the only people who work for us. Check the xat ID, because anyone can copy a name.
Not on this list? Not staff. Staff never ask for your password, your API key, or xats and days sent to them. Bot time is only ever paid to the bot account with your Bot ID as the message.
Privacy policy

This explains what VOXbots stores, why, and for how long. VOXbots is a bot service for xat.com chat rooms. It isn't run by xat, and xat has its own privacy policy for everything you do on xat.
If you have a panel account
- Your sign-in: username, email and password. Passwords are stored scrambled (hashed), so nobody at VOXbots can read them. If you turn on two-step login, we store its secret and scrambled backup codes.
- A sign-in cookie, used only to keep you signed in. It lasts 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Your bots: the settings you enter, such as names, rooms, word lists, staff lists with xat IDs, and messages.
- Support tickets and our replies.
- Payments: the sender's xat ID, the amount, the transfer message and the time.
- When you agreed to these terms and this policy.
If you're in a room with a VOXbots bot
The bot sees what everyone in the room sees. It keeps:
- Your xat ID, registered name and when you were last seen, so
!mailcan find people by name and staff lists can show who was around. - Game points in that room.
- Things the bot did or was asked to do involving you, such as a kick, ban, rank change or
!report, kept for 180 days. The bot's activity log keeps its last 1,000 entries. - Mail sent with
!mail, until the person it was sent to deletes it, or 90 days after it was sent. - Chat messages, only if the room owner turns on chat history. Owners choose to keep them for 1 to 30 days, and private messages are never stored. We ask owners to tell their room when it's on.
Who can see it
- A bot's owner, and anyone they give panel access to, can see that bot's settings, logs, history and chat history.
- VOXbots' administrators and support staff can see what they need to run the service and answer tickets. This includes opening your bot's settings and logs read-only. Each time they do, and every change they make to your bot or account, is recorded in a staff-only audit log kept for one year.
- In the VOXbots team's own chat room, messages in the main chat are also posted to a private Discord channel for our staff, so Discord's privacy policy applies to that copy. Other rooms aren't affected.
- We don't sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or analytics tools.
- The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when the page loads.
Other things we keep briefly
Your IP address is used for a short time to limit repeated wrong sign-in attempts. It's held in memory, not saved. Copies of the database are made every night and kept for 14 days, so deleted information can stay in a backup for up to 14 days.
Your choices
- Delete a bot in the panel and its logs, history, chat history, points and staff records are deleted with it.
- Turn chat history off and the stored messages are deleted straight away.
- Use
!mail deleteto remove mail sent to you, and!mail blockto stop mail from someone. - To see or delete anything else, including your panel account, open a support ticket in the panel.
Age
You must be at least 13 to create a panel account.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.

By creating a panel account or adding a VOXbots bot to a room, you agree to these terms.
What VOXbots is
VOXbots runs bots in xat.com chat rooms. It's an independent service, not made or approved by xat. You must also follow xat's own terms, and xat can change how rooms and bots work at any time. The VOXbots administrator has the top bot rank (Bot owner) in every room with a VOXbots bot, so they can help with problems and abuse; they are listed by !voxstaff.
Your account and your bots
- You must be at least 13.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens with your account and with anyone you give panel access to.
- Only add a bot to rooms you own or have the owner's permission for.
- If you turn on chat history, tell the people in your room that chat is recorded.
Don't use VOXbots to
- spam, harass, threaten or scam anyone, or post anything illegal
- break xat's terms, or get around another room's bans
- attack, overload or try to break into the service, or reach other people's bots or data
We can stop or remove a bot, or close an account, that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.
Bot time and payments
- Bot time is added to one Bot ID. When it runs out, that bot goes back to the free plan.
- Transfers on xat can't be reversed by us. If a payment didn't arrive or was added to the wrong bot, open a support ticket and we'll look into it.
- Bot time isn't refundable once it's added, except where the law requires it.
No guarantees
We work to keep bots online, but VOXbots is provided as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or work perfectly. xat may change or block things outside our control. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses caused by the service being down or a bot not acting as expected.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version.
